Hands down, the BEST sushi experience in the South!! Starting with the staff: Jesus, Steven, AK, and Dung - super friendly and extremely knowledgeable of not just their menu, but sushi/food in general. They made our dinner that much more enjoyable. Onto the food...I can't articulate enough just how good everything was. Every dish was perfectly balanced, with no component overpowering your palate. Every dish recommended was a homerun! Definitely coming back here on my next trip to HTX.
I never leave reviews, but I feel like I had to for Aiko. Came for the omakase happy hour; left full and extremely satisfied. The $45 omakase is available from 5-6:30 pm everyday and was absolutely worth it. The sushi was creative, fresh, and delicious; especially the hand rolls. I highly recommend the hot sake, carpis, and saketini for drinks. Get the espresso mochi for dessert. The overall service and vibes were impeccable. They were happy to accommodate my no wasabi request as well. The chefs were interactive and genuinely wanted to know our feedback. I can tell they truly want to curate the best menu for their customers. Aiko is now a staple on my list for whenever I’m in Houston. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. If you make a reservation, request for the sushi bar! 100/10!
My husband and I had such a great experience. We went on a Saturday early evening (around 5:30pm) and sat at the sushi bar. Got to hang out with chef Jesse and Jesus, they were so friendly and really help our anniversary be special. Omakase ranges from $35 to $95, but they also have a substantial omakase HH menu as well as a la cart items. We liked coming earlier bc then our chefs were less busy and could chat with us. Our FAVORITE items were: Chutoro nigiri, kanpachi nigiri, maguro crudo, sake crudo, and uzuzukuri. We also had some amazing items from their daily menu. Would absolutely come again, just wish I had the budget to make it a frequent visit, easily can become $150-200 pp including drinks.

First time we were here, we were blown away so we decided to come back again the next month. Now I’ve probably been back about 7x. Every piece is curated to perfection. You won’t need a drop of soy sauce in your Omakase experience. There were other sushi restaurants that used to be our favorite but I want to say, Aiko has become our #1 sushi spot in Houston. Consistency, customer experience, quality/innovation in their menu is why Aiko stands above from other sushi restaurants in Houston. There hasn’t been a visit we didn’t feel treated like family here. From the manager, Joe, to the friendly sushi chefs behind the bar, everyone makes an effort to make your experience special. If you haven’t tried this place, please do, you’re missing out!
First time been there, surprised by the quality of food. Fresh fish and high quality sushi rice, it is not traditional Japanese sushi, chief definitely using creative ideas to make new style Japanese food, all the dishes are delicious, will go again for sure.
Back again at one of our favorite Houston restaurants. Amazing presentation, meal, and experience. Can’t recommend enough! Thank you to the whole team for making it an evening to remember.
aiko is one of the best spots in houston for affordable omakase! they have a great happy hour menu that runs from 5-6:30. the hh omakase is $45 and includes edamame, two hand rolls, assorted nigiri pieces, and a refreshing crudo.
aiko is from the team behind handies douzo and kokoro, offering similar menu items within a sit-down restaurant setting.
